The course provider checklist
The official Quality Standards for KA1 courses, turned into the questions to ask before you enrol anyone. If a provider fails more than one or two, keep looking.
Before enrolment — is all of this published?
- ☐ Full day-by-day programme, with at least 5 hours of learning activities per day on average
- ☐ Active methodology — workshops, not lectures (passive events like conferences are not fundable)
- ☐ Trainer names and the provider's track record
- ☐ Target audience, prerequisites and course language
- ☐ Objectives, contents and learning outcomes
- ☐ Expected group size and composition — international groups are a Programme requirement
- ☐ Dates, duration, exact location and daily schedule
- ☐ Fees with a breakdown of what they cover — optional services (housing, transfers, extra visits) priced separately, never bundled
Terms — do they protect you?
- ☐ Free cancellation if the provider changes price, content, dates or location
- ☐ Clear enrolment and confirmation policy — when do you know it's safe to book travel?
- ☐ Venue is adequate, safe and accessible to participants with disabilities
After the course — what do you get?
- ☐ Named certificate with description, learning outcomes, dates, places and trainers
- ☐ Europass Mobility document (or equivalent recognition)
- ☐ A programme usable as your learning agreement (the Guide allows it for courses)
Identity — can you verify them?
- ☐ Legal name and country of establishment (courses must happen in that country)
- ☐ OID published and checkable
- ☐ Independent reviews you can find outside their own website
